Webinar Details
In this free live webinar, Curi Bio's Dr. Christos Michas and Dr. Ayesha Arefin will discuss:
Managing contractile variability across experiment conditions and drug responses
Establishing quality control parameters and context of use
Building approaches to advance cardiac maturity: force-frequency relationship (FFR)
Join this webinar to learn more about how you can address these challenges.
Summary
Join Ayesha and Christos from Curi Bio for an in-depth look at the reproducibility of generating contractility data using engineered heart tissues (EHT) on the Mantarray platform. This webinar will provide a comprehensive analysis of EHT generation, with a particular focus on the evaluation of contractile properties across multiple induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocyte (iPSC-CM) lines, differentiation batches, and experimental plates. This detailed analysis will highlight the inherent variability and robustness of the EHT platform. The session will also explore how key cardiac functions, including contractility, calcium handling, and inotropic properties, differ under these varying experimental conditions. Part of the webinar will highlight how EHTs assess cardiotoxicity from drugs, comparing responses across genetic backgrounds to identify genetic predispositions.
The webinar will conclude by reviewing essential factors that can be carefully controlled to ensure reproducible data and optimize assay conditions. The importance of precise timing for utilizing the platform in cardiac disease modeling, pharmacological screening, and safety assessments will be discussed. Additionally, strategies for improving tissue maturity through controlled electrical pacing protocols and the potential for achieving positive force-frequency relationships (FFR), a characteristic of mature cardiac tissue, will be explored. This session is essential for anyone aiming to align with FDA modernization goals and generate reproducible, actionable data from 3D cardiac tissue assays.
